Grounds

Our Estate has a rustic, distinctly African atmosphere due in part to the special effort that has been made to protect the indigenous trees and birdlife. The tranquility of the venue is enhanced by the neighbouring Nature Conservancy which extends the protection afforded this scenic natural area.

The layout of the Estate enhances the many quiet corners and peaceful nooks, while allowing sufficient open spaces for outdoor activities.

The lounge and bar are situated in the southern part of the grounds. Rooms and accommodation are separated by stretches of lawn and garden, allowing delegates and visitors to experience a sense of tranquility and space. For your convenience, buildings are connected by roofed pathways. Established trees, lawn and flowering shrubs add visual appeal to the peaceful gardens.

Extensive sport fields and team building courses are valuable additions to the enjoyment of the environment at Alpha Conference Centre.

Maintenance and improvements are ongoing so you will always find the Centre in pristine condition. Centre Executive Director Krish Naidu lives on site and he and his executive staff keep a watchful eye to ensure it stays that way.

As you stroll around, you will see the historic Magaliesberg range to the north - the scene of much of the action in the Anglo-Boer War. In fact, you may be standing on the very ground used by British forces to escape from the ambush at Kalkheuwel Pass. The Pass followed the current direction of the Lanseria Road just outside the Centre. There are several blockhouses in the region and on a ramble through the foothills, you may well find spent cartridges.

Make the most of shady trees and sun-kissed lawns. Outdoor benches and tables provide comfortable spaces to chat and connect between sessions.

We are very proud of the estate and we are quite sure you will enjoy it as much as we do.
